Air France Chooses Unisys IT Support to Enhance Service to Employees and Customers
By consolidating service delivery with Unisys, Air France looks to boost efficiency, employee productivity and customer service
Paris - Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that its French subsidiary has signed a multi-year contract to provide end-user IT support services for 60,000 employees of Air France and its subsidiaries at multiple locations throughout France.
Under the terms of the contract, Unisys will handle IT equipment procurement and software distribution for those employees. Unisys will also provide a range of hardware installation, maintenance and support services for 23,000 devices distributed across 10 airports and other locations in France.
The agreement is intended to give Air France employees fast access to productivity tools no matter where they are based, speed response to service requests, and simplify management of IT resources – enabling the airline to focus internal IT personnel on supporting business operations and enhancing passenger service.
One of the world’s largest airlines, Air France flies more than 71 million passengers to 183 destinations in 98 countries every year, in addition to providing cargo flights and aircraft maintenance.
“Air France is in a service business, and our success depends on delivering better service than anyone else to our passengers, employees and business partners,” said Ghislain Colas Des Francs, IT desktop service director, Air-France KLM Group. “Unisys will help our employees maintain those high levels of service worldwide by giving them access to the IT resources that they need. This is a challenging task, but Unisys’ services expertise and commitment to innovation make it the ideal partner to provide the comprehensive support we need for our business mission.”
“Unisys has been an IT partner of choice to Air France for nearly 45 years – and we have maintained that position by continually delivering innovative services and solutions that further this client’s evolving business requirements,” said Ron Frankenfield, president, Unisys Global Outsourcing and Infrastructure Services. “Unisys welcomes this new opportunity to employ our expertise in global services delivery to help Air France’s employees provide consistent service to the airline’s millions of passengers and partners.”
