Intuit Health Solution Integrated With EHR to Help Clients Meet Meaningful Use Rules

WINDSOR, Connecticut – – Origin Healthcare Solutions, a leader in the medical software and revenue cycle management industry, announced today that their Electronic Health Record system, Origin EMRge™, will equip thousands of providers across the United States with advanced functionality within their patient portal module. Origin has partnered with Intuit Health, a leader in patient portal and healthcare communications, for this enhanced functionality.

Medical practices that are using Origin EMRge™ will be able to expedite many front desk and clinical and administrative tasks using this fully integrated functionality. Phone time previously required to respond to appointment and medication requests can now be allocated to other patient care needs. Demographic data entry time is lessened as updates are delivered to the patient’s medical record from the portal. Pre-registration forms and medical and family history can now be written directly to the patient encounter, thereby significantly reducing documentation time. Patient recalls can now be handled by broadcast messaging from within EMRge. The portal is also able to facilitate communication between the patient and healthcare provider, via functionality such as Ask-A-Biller.

In January, Intuit Health received ONC-ATCB certification as a modular solution for the timely access of electronic health records, an important element of high patient engagement.
