Power F.I.T. Austin Offers a Unique Boot Camp


There is a new boot camp in Austin, TX that is taking the local fitness industry by storm. Power F.I.T. Austin may be new to Austin, but it’s not shying away from the competition as it offers a unique way to train the human body. Boot camp classes at Power F.I.T. Austin focus on the training of skilled movements by incorporating equipment such as barbells and Med Balls all while keeping a high intensity to ensure that its members see optimal results.

“Power F.I.T. Austin is not your average boot camp,” says lead instructor and founder Joel Hargett, who knows a little bit about being above average when it comes to fitness and training. Hargett was once a member of the University of Texas Longhorn’s Men’s Track and Field team that won the Big 12 Championship four times. During his time at Texas, Hargett excelled in the high jump where he earned All Big 12 honors five times and qualified for the NCAA National track meet two times, one of which he placed 10th in the high jump his senior year. Hargett’s accolades go beyond the track as he was recently named one of Austin’s best personal trainers in the January 2011 Edition of Austin Fit Magazine.

Hargett says: “One of the reasons that I started Power F.I.T. Austin was to help others achieve optimal health and gain a better understanding of what it takes to see results by challenging themselves each and every time they set out to train. Whether they seek to lose body fat and get in better shape or are training for a major athletic event, Power F.I.T. Austin’s boot camp classes will challenge you by teaching skilled movements all while maintaining a high intensity for maximal results. Nutrition is certainly not neglected at Power F.I.T. Austin, and in fact it’s harped on frequently. I make sure any new members have gone through at least a fifteen minute nutrition consultation with me before any training begins.”

Power F.I.T. Austin boot camp classes are held in downtown Austin at 422 West Riverside Drive next to RunTex across from Auditorium Shores. Class times are currently offered: Monday-Thursday at 6pm; Wednesday & Friday at 12pm; and Saturday at 9:15am.
