Dialogic Presents on Network Breaking Point Panel at Mobile World Congress 2011

WEBWIRE

What:
At Mobile World Congress, Dialogic will join ByteMobile, MobiTV, Sprint and Telefónica O2 UK in the “Network Breaking Point” panel to discuss the range of available technologies and services that mobile operators can consider to ride the data tsunami while generating additional revenue to support infrastructure investment.

Why:
Mobile networks are quickly being saturated with data traffic - social networking and video applications are driving huge increases in data usage. New device types, especially tablets, are making these applications easier to use, leading to even more network usage. Without additional investment in network infrastructure, operators could soon reach that “breaking point” where networks run out of capacity. But how are mobile operators supposed to afford network investment?

While some operators announced the end to “all-you-can-eat” data plans in 2010, others are relying on technology solutions, like femtocell and wifi-offload. Others are evaluating ways to generate additional revenue from this increased usage. This panel will consider a variety of ideas for dealing with this problem before we reach the “breaking point.”
