Kay Kapoor Joins Accenture to Lead U.S. Federal Practice

RESTON, Va.; – Accenture today announced that Kay Kapoor will join the company on Feb. 21 to lead its U.S. federal government practice, a cornerstone of the company’s Health & Public Service (H&PS) operating group.

H&PS Group Chief Executive Steve Rohleder said Kapoor brings 25 years of systems integration and IT consulting experience to Accenture, including extensive work with the U.S. federal government. “U.S. civilian and defense agencies represent many of our most important and longest client engagements. Kay’s deep industry knowledge and significant leadership experience make her the perfect trusted adviser for our clients. I’m confident she is the right person to accelerate our continued growth in the public sector.”

Kapoor comes to Accenture from ITT, where she served as vice president and of the company’s Advanced Information Systems and was responsible for the technical and financial performance of defense, intelligence and civilian contracts for that business unit. Prior to ITT, she spent 20 years at Lockheed Martin, including serving as vice president and deputy of the company’s federal civilian business.

She holds an M.S. in business from Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. in information systems from the University of Maryland.
