New Book: “Life On The Stoop” Chronicles Author’s Life Growing Up in Brooklyn During the 1940s
A newly released book containing some 160 illustrations created by author Philip Bracco documenting his early years and neighborhood life growing up in the infamous “Red Hook” section of Brooklyn, New York back in the 1940’s has been released and available online at www.lifeonthestoop.com.

The book, titled Life On The Stoop, is an often comical, charming, and very illuminating. The illustrations and the stories that accompany them tell the story of Phil’s life. “The book was created to preserve my illustrations and stories so that I could pass them along to my grandchildren,” said Philip.

People who lived in the 1940’s or their children who are hungry to reconnect with their family after many years of little or no contact with an extended family will find Life On The Stoop very insightful and informative of a bygone era. “Almost everyone will find something in this book with which they can relate even if they are from a different era or a different geographic location,” said Philip Bracco, on whose site the book is being promoted.

And according to one reader commenting of the book, Vicki Gardner of PA, “Phil Bracco hits it out of the park. I almost felt like I was there growing up with him. His talent is showcased here well. The sheer amount of work is amazing and you begin to understand that here is someone who loves the process of making art.”

When asked about the making of the book, Philip said that over the years he had kept a journal of things as he remembered them from his childhood. “In an effort to preserve these stories to help bring them to life for the reader, I recently created water colors to match each of the stories I had written and the result is the book Life On The Stoop.”

For those who feel a connection to the stories and illustrations, Philip has also created a gift shop where different products are available to the reader as well as an Operatic Prelude video as an introduction to the book. “We have also made the book available as an eBook for the busy person on the go,” the author said.

A preview of the video is available at http://lifeonthestoop.com/store/#ecwid:category=569661&mode=product&product=2059763.
