Projects with food industry partners support sustainable production

Bayer CropScience at the Fruit Logistica 2011 in Berlin:

Monheim, – Bayer CropScience plans to align its activities more systematically to aspects of sustainable agriculture. The company’s presentation at the Fruit Logistica 2011 in Berlin will therefore be entitled “Working together for sustainable agriculture”. Bayer CropScience specialists will be on hand at booth C-13 in hall 20 on February 9 to 11, 2011, to present the company’s projects with partners from the food industry aimed at enabling sustainable production of high-quality food. Sustainable solutions based on seeds, innovative crop protection and comprehensive advisory services play an important part in securing harvests, sustainably increasing yields and maintaining the quality of harvested produce. With its activities, Bayer CropScience also makes possible efficient use of agricultural land and natural resources to ensure that the global rise in demand for food can continue to be met in the future.

New Food Chain Partnership project in Italy

More than 70 wine producers, representatives of the Italian Association of Oenologists and Wine Technicians and experts from Bayer CropScience, supported by the Italian Wine Union (UIV), the Italian Institute of Sciences of Food Production (CNR-ISPA), the Universities of Milan, Turin and Florence and the IT solution provider Image Line, are working together closely on the MAGIS project (www.magis.me). The common objective of this cooperative project is to promote sustainable production of wine that meets customer requirements in terms of both taste and quality. MAGIS is the subject of a Bayer CropScience workshop which all interested exhibition visitors are more than welcome to attend on February 10, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the hall forum (Großer Stern, Madrid room).
