Phoenix Health Center plans to be one of the first medical marijuana dispensaries in the state

Phoenix Health Center has announced that it will soon be one of Arizona’s first legal medical marijuana dispensaries in the state.

When the doors of its Phoenix, Arizona-based healthcare operation open in July 2011, the facility will become one of the first state-recognized centers for the dispensing of legal marijuana to patients. Those with debilitating medical conditions such as cancer, HIV/AIDS and chronic pain will be eligible to receive a small portion of marijuana. Patients with other chronic diseases that meet stringent state guidelines and receive written approval by a physician will also qualify to receive 2 ½ ounces of marijuana or to grow their own plants.

“There’s a big need for compassionate patient care in Maricopa County,” said Chris Brown, Phoenix Health Center CEO. “We set out to establish a healthcare center which focuses on a patient’s needs.”

Since the legalization of medical marijuana in Arizona, Phoenix Health Center has been involved in the licensing procedures and policies required to legally dispense marijuana. The healthcare facility has also been hard at work in the construction and renovation of their Phoenix, Arizona-based operation to facilitate that goal. The center provides a legal location where patients can obtain the medical product they need in a non-judgmental atmosphere.
