Bristol Based CLS Grows Faster Than Expected and Looks for 10 Per Cent More Staff
Bristol based The Co-operative Legal Services (CLS) today (date) announced plans to increase its workforce by 10 per cent next year.
CLS, part of The Co-operative Group, which provides a range of legal services such as writing a will and injury claims to customers and Co-operative members throughout the UK, intends to employ 30 more legal experts at the two offices it occupies at Almondsbury.
The Co-operative Legal Services was launched in 2006 with a target of employing 150 people within a 5 year period. CLS has grown much more quickly than expected, currently employing 330 staff, who offer legal help and advice on personal injury claims, will writing, probate & estate administration, conveyancing and employment law.
Eddie Ryan Managing Director, CLS said:” We have grown rapidly since we were established in 2006 and we envisage that we will continue to expand. We are now a significant employer of qualified solicitors and legally trained staff in the region and we offer our staff numerous opportunities to further their careers.”
He explained that CLS is at forefront of the major changes taking place in advance of the new Legal Services Act being implemented in October next year.
“Customers feel that solicitors communicate with them poorly, use jargon that is confusing and don’t understand how services are priced. The shake-up that the new Act offers is absolutely necessary if legal services are to become more accessible to customers.”
