Edgewater Golf Club Welcomes New Head Golf Professional

Edgewater Golf Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Phil Lobeck as Head Golf Professional and Tournament Director of Fuzzy Zoeller and Friends Edgewater Golf Classic. Phil brings to Edgewater a wealth of experience and a track record of success in working with Fuzzy Zoeller. Phil is enthusiastic about taking the reigns at Edgewater: “On my first site visit to Edgewater and touring the entire property from the golf course, lake and the community I knew it was something very special. I have been lucky enough to travel with Fuzzy to scores of golf communities and I have never seen anything quite like Edgewater. That is when I knew that Fuzzy would want to be involved. This Spring, Fuzzy flew in and spent the day combing the property at Edgewater and the rest is history! I am very proud to say that Edgewater is now a Fuzzy Zoeller Signature Golf and Lake Community. I have lived here in The Cottages at Edgewater all summer and every day feels like a vacation.”

Phil has spent his career working with top golf clubs and leading professionals. He turned professional in 1991 and was elected to The Professional Golfers’ Association of America in 1996. He worked as 1st Assistant at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana which is a Pete Dye Top 100 design and the host of several PGA and LPGA Major Events. Most notably the 1991 PGA Championship where the “Cinderella Story” John Daly was crowned champion with his first win. Phil then joined up with Fuzzy Zoeller at his Southern Indiana home courses. According to Phil “I wore several different hats as tournament director, VP of Sales and Marketing, PGA Golf Professional and General Manager of Fuzzy’s Covered Bridge Golf Club and the course I built from the ground up Champions Pointe Golf Club.”

Phil is excited to continue the tradition of hospitality at Edgewater Golf Club: “Having been lucky enough to work with Fuzzy for so long and wearing many different hats for him I know the expectations he demands for treating people. ‘Kill them with kindness’ is one of his most repeated phrases. That is my every day goal. "If you treat the people right the rest will take care of itself’ was often the statement Fuzzy would make after our monthly owners’ meetings. I can’t think of a better figure head for a golf and lake development. I am enjoying watching Edgewater evolve with the endorsement of Fuzzy Zoeller, the quality of the Tribute Homes team and the Edgewater development team.”
