Huddersfield’s Grieves Solicitors Supports Road Safety Week 2010

Road traffic and child accident claims specialists Grieves Solicitors is gearing up for Huddersfield Road Safety Week 2010, which takes place between the 22nd and the 28th of November.

The annual event, which is organised by road safety charity Brake, aims to stimulate community involvement in road safety and promote road safety awareness.

This year’s theme, ’Kids Say Slow Down’, highlights the high number of road traffic accidents involving children, which occur every year on Britain’s roads.

Helen Grieves of Grieves Solicitors explains: "It’s an unfortunate fact that every year children are injured due to the negligence of drivers.

"As personal injury specialists we deal with a lot of claims following road traffic accidents involving children, so we understand how hard it can be for parents.

“That’s why we’re supporting this year’s Road Safety Week, and Brake in general. Their commitment to making Britain’s roads a safer place for pedestrians and drivers alike is admirable.”

According to Brake, speeding is the number one killer on UK roads. Despite the fact that traffic must not travel faster than 20mph outside schools and in family communities, accidents involving children are still common.

“We’re urging everyone, wherever they are and whatever they do, to campaign for slower speeds on UK roads during RSW10, between the 22nd and 28th of November” explained a Brake spokesperson.
