His New Book, Covenant for Rookies, Seeks Answers to Life’s Deepest Questions

2010-11-14 -- (Los Angeles, CA) -- WDC Media, the nation’s most innovative and passionate faith and values-based public relations firm, has been retained by author Andrew Wittman. Covenant for Rookies is a book for anyone who has ever asked questions of God.

“As a marine, a federal agent, and a sheriff’s deputy – and as a child growing up in a missionary family – I had the privilege of meeting people from every conceivable walk of life,” says Wittman. “The one thing they all had in common was a burning desire to understand why God does what He does…my book answers this universal question.”

Covenant for Rookies is for anyone who has ever asked God why: Why do bad things happen to good people? Why is life so often full of pain and heartache? Or, even, why is the Bible sometimes difficult to understand? Wittman’s book is also for people who’ve suspected all along that there’s a whole lot more to all this God stuff, as he puts it, than simply trundling off to church once a week, and then trying to be a good person for the next six days.

“People today are on a quest for meaning,” says Wittman, an international speaker. “They feel dissatisfied unless they can understand the whys of life, and this includes a deeper understanding of their faith in God.”

Covenant for Rookies offers readers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at why God does the things He does the way He does them. The author’s wisdom helps guide readers toward an understanding of the Bible’s many secrets, so that they may grasp the most important and overarching issues embedded in God’s word. Wittman offers solutions that can help put an end, he says, to most of the bad things that happen to people in their lives; the rest of it, claims Wittman, they can learn to work through and overcome.

The son of missionaries to Australia, the People’s Republic of China, and to the West Indies, Wittman was raised on the mission field. He has since served six years in the United States Marine Corps infantry, participating and leading Marines in combat operations in the Republic of Panama and the first Gulf War. Wittman was the special agent-in-charge of Representative Nancy Pelosi’s security detail and has protected Senators Joe Lieberman, Pat Leahy, Trent Lott, and Hillary Rodham Clinton. Covenant for Rookies draws on Wittman’s wonderfully varied life experiences, and diverse relationships with people around the globe.

“Wittman lives up to his nickname, the Warrior Monk,” says Susan Zahn, founder of WDC Media. “He’s fought to keep our nation safe, and now – through Covenant for Rookies – he’s fighting to enlighten them"
