TestAmerica’s Dr. Richard Burrows Speaks at the U.S. EPA Region 6 Quality Assurance Conference

Dr. Richard Burrows, TestAmerica’s Director of Technical Services and industry recognized expert, will reveal the limitations and solutions of extrapolating relevant information from laboratory data at the U.S. EPA Region 6 Annual Quality Assurance (QA) Conference. The technical presentation will be provided on October 20, 2010 in Dallas, Texas.

Environmental testing laboratories generate large volumes of data, and meaningful information extracted from this data is used to support important decision making. However, there are critical elements to consider when examining results, in order to understand the limitations of the data and to prevent false data interpretation. Dr. Burrows will review the current issues, potential, and state-of-the-art solutions in the process of extracting applicable information from the raw data provided by laboratory instruments for decision making.

Dr. Burrows is a member of the U.S. EPA’s Federal Advisory Board Committee, the Environmental Laboratory Advisory Board (ELAB). He is actively involved with environmental methods and technique development through the U.S. EPA and American Council of Independent Laboratories (ACIL), and EPA Federal Advisory Committees. Dr. Burrows’ method development work has involved bringing new insights to method detection limits (MDLs), quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC), environmental reference materials, volatile and semivolatile organic compound methods, and HPLC/MS.
