At GRAPH EXPO 2010, Fujifilm to Showcase Compatibility of Its Renowned Color Monitoring Solution with Epson Spectroproofer and with EFI Colorproof XF 4.1

Valhalla, N.Y., October 01, 2010 – FUJIFILM North America Corporation today announced that its Graphic Systems Division has integrated its award winning, proprietary Taskero Universe ColorPath Verified solution with Epson’s Spectroproofer and with the EFI Colorproof XF 4.1, minimizing the risk of mismatched color during proofing production and providing an automated, hands-free measurement process. The combination of EFI’s Colorproof XF 4.1, Epson’s Spectroproofer and Fujifilm’s Taskero Universe ColorPath Verified allows up-to-the-minute information to be given by email notification about proofer performance. This information will allow operators to minimize the risk and expense of potentially inaccurate proofs.

“If a print customer receives a proof with inaccurate color, that will immediately raise a red flag and spark doubt that the final product will be produced accurately,” said Donald Schroeder, director of solutions development, Graphic Systems Division, FUJIFILM North America Corporation. “Our Taskero Universe ColorPath Verified product resolves these issues and is designed to validate all color assets. Epson’s Spectroproofer with EFI’s Colorproof XF 4.1 represent a very reliable proofing combination for the print market so we think the addition of our Taskero Universe ColorPath Verified functionality will provide an added benefit to the print shop as well as to the print customer. We will continue to add new features based on the feedback from our customers.”

“The Taskero Universe ColorPath Verified system works very well with our latest Proofing Edition Bundle,” said Mark Radogna, group product manager, Professional Imaging, Epson America, Inc. “The automation of the Proofing Edition Bundle and the automatic upload of color data via the onboard SpectroProofer really makes the ColorPath Verified System unique and supports the production in one or more locations.”

“The automation and the collaboration of these three products into one cohesive solution is delivering a total solution to the industry that has long been needed,” said Stefan Spiegel, general manager, EFI Graphic Arts Solutions. “The investment into R&D by these three companies shows the valued importance of long term support of the graphic arts industry.”

The integration of FUJIFILM Taskero Universe ColorPath Verified with the Epson Spectoproofer and EFI Colorproof XF 4.1 better ensures that proofing equipment is accurately matching color, and provides a solution for printers who are having difficulty understanding the root cause of proofing color inconsistency on one, or across multiple proofers. As a color issue is detected, Colorpath Verified will send a real-time email notification so that operator action can be taken before materials are wasted and deadlines are compromised. This 3-way marriage between the EFI Colorproof XF 4.1, the Epson Spectroproofer and Taskero Universe also provides the peace of mind for print buyers who need reassurance that their proofs accurately represent the color of the final product.

A completely web-based solution, FUJIFILM Taskero Universe ColorPath Verified is an anytime, anywhere solution with reports and graphs that can be viewed and analyzed anywhere there is an internet connection. Reporting and monitoring is in real time and is backed by Fujifilm’s team of experts.

Taskero Universe is a complete process control solution which monitors and aligns color from the printer’s computer monitor straight through to the press. Its open architecture provides compatibility with a series of third party solutions such as CGS and Xrite, making integration into an existing print environment seamless. Taskero Universe ColorPath Verified received the 2009 InterTech Technology Award and is designed to automatically collect color quality data and give users the option to manually measure both color output and plate output.

Throughout GRAPH EXPO 2010, Taskero Universe ColorPath Verified will be monitoring color throughout Fujifilm’s booth (booth #1469) and at various other Expo booths throughout the show floor.
