Mobistar launches a new television experience!

Today Mobistar is launching a new way of watching television. With Mobistar TV, customers get to choose what they want to watch, anywhere, anytime. From 8 October 2010 on, Mobistar TV is offered at all Mobistar centres together with mobile and fix telephony as well as mobile and unlimited fix internet with the ‘Starpack’ costing 55 euros/month.

Mobistar developed a complete television solution combining multiple available technologies. The innovative television decoder is very flexible, as it can receive satellite (via DVB-S), digital terrestrial (DVB-T) and IPTV television signals.
Satellite currently guarantees the best HD quality (Full HD 1080) and 3D television experience and offers over 500 television and radio channels. The internet gives customers access to interactive services (EPG), content on demand (VOD) and thanks to Mobistar TV’s intelligent platform, customers can watch, record and manage their favourite programmes both on their television or mobile devices.

From now on, customers can decide what, when and where they watch!
Mobistar TV’s customer-friendly interface offers a unique experience. Customers can use their remote control or smartphone (such as an iPhone) to find, record, program, and watch programmes as many times as they want on the screen of their choice whenever they want to. The innovative television decoder/recorder has a removable and exchangeable hard disk of 320 GB (200 hours) to record programmes: ideal for creating your own programme library.

The innovative television decoder allows Mobistar to perform automatic software upgrades remotely. New television functionalities will be added to the innovative television platform at regular intervals.

Mobistar TV is available at all Mobistar centres and online as from 8 October 2010. Mobistar TV is offered in an attractive all-in ‘Starpack’ bundle, which also provides mobile and unlimited fix internet and mobile and fix telephony. Mobistar customers who choose this pack only pay 55 euros/month to enjoy:

1. A unique SD/HD/3D television experience, including over 500 radio & TV channels, including rental and installation of the television decoder and satellite equipment (worth 120 euros)
2. Unlimited fixed internet, including rental of the Livebox 2.0. (wifi and DNLA enabled)
3. A 12-month Internet Everywhere Daily mobile internet subscription, (worth 60 euros)
4. 40 hours of anytime fixed-to-fixed calls
5. Free mobile calls with Mobistar “Circle” option, saving up to 30% within the family (worth 72 euros).


A 50-euro one-off activation charge applies to activate the television services.
