2009 report ranked #6 globally in Annual Report on Annual Reports

Vancouver, B.C. – The 2009 TELUS Annual Report placed sixth in this year’s prestigious Annual Report on Annual Reports, becoming the only company that has been ranked in the top 10 for seven straight years.

“TELUS has established itself as a consistent global leader in financial reporting and disclosure and we are honoured to have been recognized once again by Enterprise.com for our efforts,” said Robert McFarlane, executive vice-president and chief financial officer. “Each year, we strive to improve the quality and transparency of our stakeholder disclosures. This rating is a tribute to the teamwork, innovation and focus on continual improvement that defines the excellence of our annual report process.”

The Annual Report on Annual Reports is the only international ranking of corporate annual reports and is in its 14th year of surveying reports from around the world. E.com, the Belgium-based organization owned by U.S. Corporate Essentials, Inc., uses an independent, international rating panel to judge the annual reports and publishes the rankings for the top 300 and ratings for 500 companies.

TELUS is one of only 12 Canadian companies on the list of the top 300 annual reports. The only other telecom company in the top 300 is Telekom Austria at #157.
