Is Your Local Cemetery Stealing From It’s Customers?
The author of the blog post, ’Grave Vase, Cemeteries and Theft OH MY!’ at www.cemeterysecrets.info/funeral-preplanning-grave-vase certainly thinks they may be and goes so far as to provide proof in the form of pictures as to what, they claim, is a cemetery theft in action.
In an online interview with the author (who wished to remain anonymous), the author was asked how they came to notice this trend. “Well, I was getting ready for a cremation service one day and I noticed instantly that while the outer ring was new, the vase itself was used. I had never seen it in all my years. I made a note to ask the coworker who had prepped it what exactly was going on and proceeded to do the service. I was wondering if the family would notice the discrepancy but they left without noticing and said nothing. It was that same day that I was asked by a woman where her recently buried husband was and after finding the location I noticed that he had been robbed of a new vase as well! I thought maybe it was just the cremations but I went and checked the burials and sure enough...I found a couple of our other recent customers had been ripped off too! That’s when I decided that the public needed to find out and so I posted Grave Vase, Cemeteries and Theft OH MY! up on the web.” www.cememterysecrets.info/funeral-preplanning-grave-vase.
Typically when we think of cemetery theft it’s people coming in the cover of night or looking both ways before the snatch but in today’s day and age it happens in plain day by uniformed staff because regular heart level profit isn’t enough.
