Leading Mexican Service Provider Offers Secure Managed Services to its Business Customers Nationwide Using Firewall/IPSec VPN Products

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 6th, 2006 Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced that Maxcom, a leading Mexican service provider, is providing Managed Security Services (MSS) based on Juniper Networks firewall/VPN and Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP) solutions to its small and medium business (SMB) customers. Maxcom deployed a solution consisting of Juniper Networks NetScreen-25, NetScreen-5GT, IDP 1100 and ISG 2000 security appliances to provide cost-effective and scalable managed security services to its SMB customers.

Maxcom recognized the need to offer affordable managed security services to SMB customers looking for ways to protect their network infrastructure against rising levels of security threats. Maxcom partnered with Juniper Networks to provide best-in-class firewall/VPN and IDP solutions, including a managed security service known as E-Security, and hosting services.

By intelligently placing intrusion detection and prevention sensors on a network, Maxcom’s team of security experts can manage a customer’s devices around-the-clock, monitoring for security violations or misuse that originates from inside or outside the network. With Maxcom’s hosting solution, business customers can securely access their company’s intranet site via the Internet all year round, without the need to invest in additional equipment infrastructure, annual licensing fees and personnel training.

Maxcom provides 24x7 management and monitoring of all network traffic. The Security Operations Center (SOC) keeps customers up-to-date with relevant security information and real security events are quickly identified and acted upon. All intrusion attempts, regardless of severity, are logged and well-defined customer notification and resolution procedures are executed for all security events.
