Leading Homecare Management Software Company PeoplePlanner selects iomart Hosting for full managed hosting service

PeoplePlanner, a software system for care and nursing providers, has enlisted the help of leading UK managed hosting and cloud company iomart Hosting to ensure vulnerable people receive the care they need.

The PeoplePlanner system provides one of the most comprehensive care sector software solutions available in the UK today, with a unique dashboard-driven solution enabling a framework for high quality, person-centred care.

The software, accessed via a web-based subscription, offers powerful compliance and planning functions coupled with real-time monitoring, and provides users and mangers with proactive alerts to ensure tasks are carried out on time and correctly.

To enable PeoplePlanner to provide this service, its entire IT infrastructure, including its telephony, is hosted by iomart Hosting – and the importance of the quality and security within data centres is not lost on managing director Ian McMullon.

In PeoplePlanner’s early days its service had been hosted by another hosting provider, however flexibility was limited and the business had concerns around its growth and security needs.

Once PeoplePlanner had agreed to partner with iomart Hosting, a planned migration was implemented from the previous provider to ensure no loss of service, and after three months the business had transferred its entire IT infrastructure into iomart Hosting’s data centres.

Ian said: “We’re not one of iomart Hosting’s largest clients, but we still receive priority service any time we need to speak to someone. Not only are response times excellent, but our account team at iomart Hosting are extremely proactive in monitoring our hardware; they once spotted an issue with a memory chip in one of our servers. Replacing the chip involved taking down the server, which isn’t really an option for us until after 11pm, so that’s when they did it, which is the beauty of dealing with a real round the clock organisation.”
