WEBWIRE

Lectrus Corporation, the leading manufacturer of custom metal electrical and generator enclosures, has added management talent at its South Dakota operation. The plant – located just south of Sioux Falls – was acquired by Lectrus earlier this year and serves as the “center of excellence” for the company’s complete line of custom, sound-attenuated enclosures, sub-base fuel tanks and trailers for the commercial generator market. The management talent addition involves two promotions and one new hire.

“Lectrus’ South Dakota operation includes a dedicated team of customer-focused professionals that consistently displays a disciplined and structured approach to solving problems”, Executive Vice President of Operations Rob Deck stated. “Not only is the plant’s location important to increased sales of Lectrus’ equipment centers in the Midwestern US, but the expertise of the South Dakota staff is critical for training our Houston and Chattanooga teams on generator enclosure fabrication,” he added.

After three years of solid leadership, Kent Barbee, Vice President and General Manager of Lectrus’ South Dakota Operation, has decided to retire effective September 30. Kent was responsible for leading the plant and its successful growth during his tenure.

Adam Aasen will replace Kent as Vice President and General Manager. Adam has been with Lectrus’ South Dakota Operation for four years, serving most recently as Engineering Manager. Prior to joining Lectrus, Adam was employed by Caterpillar and United Robotic Integrations. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.

Jason Kangas, who served for two years as a Project Engineer for Lectrus, has been promoted to Engineering Manager in South Dakota. Jason holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering from South Dakota State University and founded Custom Innovations, a custom chopper company in Sioux Falls.

Joining Lectrus as Plant Manager – South Dakota Operation is Gary Daly. Gary has a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology from Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Prior to joining Lectrus, Gary served 16 years with Hutchinson Technology in engineering and plant management roles. Most recently, he served as Quality Manager at Raven Industries.

Lectrus Corporation is the leading electrical systems integrator in the US. They engineer, fabricate and install equipment centers, operator centers, generator enclosures, sub-base fuel tanks and other custom metal enclosures that protect complex electrical power and control systems. Lectrus works in a wide variety of business sectors—oil and gas, power, industrial and institutional, just to name a few.
