UK Families Begin to Reclaim NHS Nursing Home and Care Fees
A number of landmark court cases in 2009 highlighted the fact that many UK families have been incorrectly charged long term care and nursing home fees.
In light of this information, the number of long term care and nursing home fees claims being made in the UK has increased significantly in the first half of 2010.

In that same month the family of 74 year old Judith Roe was awarded £130,000 by the Health Service Ombudsman, after they were forced to pay ongoing care fees by NHS Worcestershire. The health body had originally claimed that Mrs Roe’s Alzheimer’s was a social rather than a medical condition, and therefore it was not responsible for her ongoing care.
