Nimsoft Expands Cloud Coverage, Product Offerings, Notes Strong Market Adoption Rates

CAMPBELL, Calif. - Nimsoft, a business unit of CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA), today announced it has launched a new partner program that significantly expands the breadth of training and professional services available to customers. Additionally, the company announced the continued, rapid expansion of its services, solutions, and market adoption—for both traditional data center deployments and cloud environments.

New Placement Center Program Yields Extended Service Coverage

Through the new Nimsoft Placement Center program, the company has dramatically expanded its services coverage. The Placement Center is a program that matches Nimsoft customers with service providers who have the in-depth, hands-on expertise needed to deliver product training and professional services, including implementation services, new probe development, and product customization. One third of all Nimsoft services are being provided by these partners―including dakoServ, Enki, IntelliNet Corporation (Cleveland, OH) and Mibtree―and new partners are continually joining the program.

Penetration in Cloud Services

The unparalleled capabilities of the Nimsoft Monitoring Solution (NMS) include its scalability, ease of use, and support for dynamic virtualized environments. This unique package has led to broad adoption of the solution, not only with enterprises adopting cloud services, but also with cloud service providers seeking to optimize the performance and availability of their infrastructures. Leading cloud service providers including GreenQloud, OpSource and SoftLayer, have recently selected and deployed NMS.

Enhanced Solution Offerings

In recent weeks, Nimsoft has delivered a host of new features and capabilities to its Unified Monitoring Architecture including:

* Expanded cloud coverage – NMS and Nimsoft On Demand now can monitor Microsoft Office Azure cloud deployments.
* Remote access through SSL –Nimsoft customers can set up SSL tunnels to remotely access servers and desktops; MSPs can remotely monitor and control a client’s servers, without a VPN connection.
* XML parsing – Customers can now aggregate data from a number of XML documents for monitoring critical status information, which can be used to trigger alarms and alerts.
* Expanded auditing – NMS and Nimsoft On Demand now feature expanded capabilities for tracking additions and changes to the monitoring infrastructure performed by users and the solution itself, so organizations can better report and monitor activities.

Compatibility and Industry Engagement

Nimsoft has also augmented its existing infrastructure coverage with expanded monitoring capabilities for high-availability cluster servers, Exchange servers, Cisco Unified Communications, Microsoft Office Communications Server, VMware, and more. In addition, through the Nimsoft Unified Monitoring Alliance (NUMA), Nimsoft has expanded its monitoring coverage, both in the data center and in the cloud. New NUMA members include Tooblue Technologies, Pineapp Canada and Diamond Informatics GmbH.

Expanded Market Adoption

Through its leading offerings and unparalleled customer focus, Nimsoft continues to enjoy strong demand and new customer wins. In recent months, Nimsoft has added more than 30 new customers, including Eventus Solutions, GLENCOM Systems, Global Data Systems, Lead IT Consulting, R2 Unified Technologies, SoftLayer, TC Computer Systems, and Virtual Ark.

“Today’s technology markets are undergoing intensive change as companies embrace the economic and operational advantages of virtualization and the cloud,” said Gary Read, senior vice president and general manager of the Nimsoft business unit at CA Technologies. “The broad acceptance of Nimsoft solutions by these companies is clear evidence that we have uniquely and successfully responded to these changes with a monitoring approach that is effective, efficient and practical.”
