Avaya Drives Development of Local Communications Applications with Formal Inauguration of Developer Lab in Beijing

Avaya DevConnect Lab will deliver local in-language technical support from assisting in developing proof-of-concept applications to testing & certifying applications to China’s developer partners

BEIJING, China – In a major move to drive the development of business communications applications for the local China market, Avaya today officially launched its DevConnect Lab in Beijing, the first of its kind in APAC outside Avaya’s regional headquarters of Singapore. The lab will provide local developer partners with a robust suite of software development kits (SDKs), educational and training resources as well as technical support options so that they can develop and test their United Communications and Contact Center applications on Avaya platforms. Around 40 of Avaya’s channel partners and application developers in China attended the opening ceremony held in Avaya’s Beijing office.

Since its inception, the Avaya DevConnect program has used its comprehensive web portal (www.avaya.com/devconnect) to provide rich developer resources, technical support and co-marketing programs that help Avaya’s developer partners create and promote a new generation of intelligent communications solutions. The new DevConnect Beijing lab will enhance the engagement between Avaya and its local developer partners.

Located in Avaya’s Beijing office, the DevConnect Lab will be managed by a dedicated local technical support team. Development partners can utilize this Lab to test their applications for inter-operability with Avaya platforms. The availability of local technical experts (backed by the global strength of DevConnect engineers worldwide) will simplify and streamline access for technical support with real-time, local language interactions.

This lab includes the SIP based Avaya Aura™ communications platform which embraces open standard in application development, including Avaya Aura Application Enablement Services, Avaya Agile Communication Environment™ (ACE), Avaya Contact Center, Avaya Voice Portal and Avaya 9600 Series IP Telephones. The Avaya Agile Communication Environment provides simple, advanced and standards-based communications systems for business applications development.
