Dialogic Sets New Industry Benchmark for Range of Software-based Development APIs and Protocols that Support Advanced Voice and Video Multimedia Applications

Parsippany, New Jersey - Dialogic Corporation ("Dialogic"), a global provider of world-class products and technologies for multimedia and signal processing, today announced the Dialogic® PowerMediaTM media processing product family that enables customers to rapidly deliver innovative real-time multimedia communications solutions over advanced communications networks, including the 3G/4G mobile networks and the PSTN, enterprise communication networks and the Web. PowerMedia products include:

•· Dialogic® PowerMediaTM IP Media Server (IPMS)
· Dialogic® PowerMediaTM Host Media Processing (HMP) Software
· Dialogic® PowerMediaTM Web Media Server (WMS) and
· Dialogic® PowerMediaTM Media Server Connector (MSC)

PowerMedia products enable network operators and enterprises to create high-value services quickly, using a choice of either industry-standard programming interfaces and/or Dialogic® APIs, all employing the widely deployed and robust Dialogic® media processing algorithms. PowerMedia products take advantage of highly tailored, patent pending video codec technology developed by Dialogic® Media Labs in order to bring the highest level of video quality to the end user. And with this wide choice of APIs, customers can use the most appropriate one to suit an application’s call profile.

New PowerMedia products include PowerMedia WMS and PowerMedia MSC. WMS gives Web developers access to an extensive array of media processing functions to quickly create innovative applications such as Facebook click-to-call, and voice or video-enabling text messaging and "tweets" This product is purpose-built for Web applications incorporating real-time communications, providing an alternative to the industry’s pervasive "one-size-fits-all" media server design approach. The MSC enables Java EE applications servers to connect to PowerMedia IPMS.

The PowerMedia IPMS is a powerful and flexible server-based software product that supports open protocols and APIs to unleash media processing capabilities for traditional mobile and PSTN value-added services. An evolution of the current IPMS product, the latest release includes a robust set of voice and video media processing capabilities and full compatibility with previous releases. PowerMedia IPMS provides video transcoding, transrating, transizing for the H.263 and H.264 codecs and RTSP client, as well as support for real-time insertion of advertising and other information using text overlays. IPMS can be implemented as a component of service delivery platforms or as an IMS media resource function.

PowerMedia HMP (formerly called Dialogic® Host Media Processing Software) performs high density media processing tasks on general-purpose servers without requiring the use of specialized hardware. Where featuring newly released H.264 video and HD Voice codecs, PowerMedia HMP provides a wide range of multimedia features for building flexible, scalable, and cost-effective next-generation IP and hybrid media servers, converged telephony applications, contact centers, and video portals for enterprise and service provider deployments. Extensive programmatic interfaces allow for fine application control over the media and signaling functions, while available third party toolkits and middleware enable rapid application development at higher programming levels. PSTN connectivity is enabled via Dialogic® HMP Interface Boards (DNI Boards) and Dialogic® Media Gateways.

The PowerMedia WMS is a new server-based software product designed to bring extensive media processing capabilities to Web applications without the need for developers to understand traditional telephony protocols. Using industry-standard Web interfaces such as HTTP, HTTPS, RTP and RTSP and a robust RESTful application programming interface, PowerMedia WMS enables service providers and web developers to enhance Web 2.0 applications with real-time multimedia communications capabilities. WMS provides advanced media processing features such as audio/video play/record, audio/video conferencing and text overlay.

The PowerMedia MSC - another new software product - connects Java EE Application Servers to the PowerMedia IPMS using the JSR 309 specification. The MSC enables advanced audio processing features such as audio play/record, simple conference mixing, and basic prompts and digit collection.

"As today’s communications networks are rapidly evolving and converging, service providers and enterprises are demanding more sophisticated and interactive multimedia services" said Jim Machi, senior vice president of marketing at Dialogic. "Dialogic’s goal is to help its customers pinpoint their most demanding media processing requirements and match those needs with exactly the right product or products. Via the Dialogic PowerMedia products, they can now take advantage of real-time multimedia processing technology that enables many exciting new application capabilities while dramatically reducing time-to-market and operational costs"
