Irving, TX – Golf patrons and social enthusiasts anticipating the best in professional golf and one of the most popular entertainment venues in North Texas need to act quickly. A limited number of sponsorships and tickets remain for the 2006 EDS Byron Nelson Championship. Tournament officials expect to announce a sell-out by late April.

“The support in this community for our Championship and our charity is absolutely phenomenal,” said Pat Bolin, tournament chairman for the 2006 Championship. “We are deeply grateful to our title sponsor, EDS, and the hundreds of sponsors and golf patrons who have enabled us to approach our goal so quickly. Their commitment allows us to raise millions of dollars each year to make a difference in the lives of children and families in our community.”

If sales continue as expected, this year will mark the 10th consecutive sell-out for the Championship that has become an annual rite of spring in North Texas.

“Golf fans have helped to make our Championship a premier stop on the PGA TOUR and a true jewel of professional sports in the Metroplex,” Bolin said. “If you want to be a part of the hottest ticket in town, you need to act quickly.”

Sponsorships and ticket packages starting at $350 are available by calling the EDS Byron Nelson Championship office at 972.717.1200. Individual daily tickets at $45 and weekly badges at $90 are available at ticketmaster.com and all Ticketmaster outlets.

The 2006 EDS Byron Nelson Championship will be played May 10-14 at the TPC Four Seasons Resort Las Colinas in Irving, Texas. For details, visit www.byronnelson.pgatour.com.

About the EDS Byron Nelson Championship

The EDS Byron Nelson Championship, the first PGA TOUR event named after a professional golfer, annually provides more money to charity than any other stop on the PGA TOUR. The 2005 Championship donated more than $6 million to Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers (SCYFC). More than $88 million has been raised for SCYFC since the tournament’s inception.

Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers, the sole beneficiary of the EDS Byron Nelson Championship, is a nonprofit organization that is helping transform children’s futures in the Dallas area. SCYFC operates innovative programs for at-risk children and their families, including a laboratory school in Oak Cliff and family therapy centers in Oak Cliff and Northwest Dallas. In April, 2006, SCYFC will open the Family Works Center, which will include intensive treatment for troubled adolescents, a comprehensive assessment program for young children and skill-based training for children and families to encourage language and social development.
