Lexington, Kentucky Band Wins “Calling All Bands” Contest

03/29/2006, LEXINGTON, KY and BEDMINSTER, NJ — Today Verizon Wireless and MySpace introduced the Parlour Boys to the mobile world when the companies announced the band and their song “Lovers” as the winner of the “Calling All Bands” contest. Parlour Boys were selected from more than 4,000 entries to be the first unsigned band to launch their career on V CAST Music, the most comprehensive mobile music service in the country. The band will have their song turned into a full-song music download, music video, ring tone and ring back tone that will be released on Verizon Wireless’ V CAST service.

Formed in 2005, Parlour Boys have in a short time garnered significant media attention, a large following of dedicated fans and a reputation for exciting shows. Their music is described as being energetic and dynamic rock songs. Their self-titled debut EP was released in January of 2006.

Winner’s Package

Verizon Wireless will release the Parlour Boys’ “Lovers” on V CAST Music – marking the first time an unsigned band will release its first single on a wireless phone. Parlour Boys will also collaborate with a MySpace independent filmmaker and Verizon Wireless to produce a music video that will be released on V CAST, plus release a ring tone and ring back tone of “Lovers” that will be available for purchase by Verizon Wireless customers.

“This is an awesome opportunity for us to get our music out to people across the country,” said Clay Kennedy, Parlour Boys. “We’re excited to be the first band to launch our music on a wireless phone. V CAST Music is certainly a pioneer in discovering unsigned bands and bringing them into the next generation of the music industry.”
