Florida Department of Law Enforcement Selects Unisys for Services to Accelerate Statewide Criminal Intelligence Sharing Initiative

Agencies will have better access to information critical to preventing and solving crime

BLUE BELL, Pa., March 29, 2006 – Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has selected the company through a competitive bidding process to provide IT services supporting the first phase of FDLE’s initiative to integrate vital law enforcement data from some 500 agencies across the state and region. By establishing a means for secure, effective interagency data availability, the initiative enables Florida law enforcement agencies and regional partners to cooperate more effectively on crime control and domestic security initiatives.



Unisys is teaming in the FDLE engagement with information integration software provider Sypherlink, Inc. The Unisys and Sypherlink solution automates mapping of information residing on often-divergent systems at multiple law enforcement agencies into a common, easily accessible view, helping to create a real-time infrastructure directly and dynamically supporting the mission of law enforcement. That integration can enable law enforcement authorities to deter potential crimes, identify criminals more easily and solve crimes more quickly.

Under the terms of the agreement, Unisys will provide training and software implementation services for the IT infrastructure supporting the program. The Sypherlink Harvester™ metadata discovery and mapping software is a cornerstone of the program. The Harvester software uses the Federal Global Justice XML Data Model (GJXDM), which affords users on multiple, even disparate, systems a common view and means of accessing critical data.



The solution is designed for FDLE, along with law-enforcement agencies and citizens across the state and throughout the region, to benefit from Unisys expertise in delivering services-driven solutions for government combined with Sypherlink’s advanced software technology.
