Tieto, Nokia and Nordea host Mobey Forum event in Helsinki

Tieto, together with Nokia and Nordea, will host Mobey Forum’s 10th anniversary member meeting in Helsinki on 17 - 18 June. At the meeting, 120 international Mobey Forum delegates from leading organizations within the mobile financial services market will discuss the future of mobile payments.

At the Mobey Forum meeting, Tieto’s key spokespeople will present and lead discussion on the latest developments in a number of areas:

* The natural payment monopoly for banks is over! Banks are being challenged to adjust to the new digital economy. As money and payments are digital - changing consumer behavior will drive new payment business models and innovations centered around real-time digital payments. New players are entering the payment ecosystem - media houses open their own micropayment services and the power of social media and crowd funding will be studied by Business Advisor Johan Löfmark.
* The future of payments: From payments to extended payments in Real Time Economy, halving enterprise administrative costs and mobile devices as omnipresent multipurpose tools, presented by Head of Executive Advisors Bo Harald.
* Public transportation goes mobile: Future payment methods in mass transportation; new mobile services in public transportation, including the Finnish case study, presented by Vice President Jukka Mannermaa.


Tieto’s Director, Offering Development Ville Sointu was one of the key contributors to the Mobey Forum “Mobile Remote Payments White Paper” which will be released during the Helsinki meeting. The white paper clarifies industry guidelines and best practices for mobile remote payment services and suggests that the mobile phone number rather than any other specific code or identifier, should be used to identify payer and payee in mobile remote payment transactions. The Mobey Forum believes that using the mobile phone number will provide user convenience, ensure privacy and security of payments information and facilitate interoperability across stakeholders.
