SAN DIEGO — March 29, 2006 — QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leading developer and innovator of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and other advanced wireless technologies, and KDDI Corporation, today announced that KDDI’s BREW-based service has achieved another significant milestone - more than 20 million handsets sold and more than 75 million BREW applications downloaded (as of December 2005). QUALCOMM’s BREW solution powers KDDI’s advanced wireless data services for all phones, including its CDMA2000® and EV-DO devices.

Since launching the BREW solution in February 2003, KDDI’s wireless data services have increased significantly both in popularity and in the number of subscribers in the Japanese wireless market. Currently, KDDI offers more than 2,300 different BREW applications, including advanced, high-performance 3D gaming; a digital book viewer; location-based services with features such as in-car or pedestrian navigation; and productivity tools and enterprise applications for email and document viewing.
