* Improved lily-of-the-valley scent: Lysmeral® Extra
* Innovative Pyranol aroma chemical complements BASF portfolio
* Prenyl acetate for mild fruity notes

BASF is to present an array of new products from its Aroma Chemicals portfolio at the international World Perfumery Congress (WPC) in Cannes, France. The company showcases its extensive aroma chemical expertise at Stand 324-326 in Palais des Festivals, La Rotonde Riviera from June 1 – 4.

New launch: Lysmeral® Extra replaces Lysmeral®

The new Lysmeral Extra is an improved Lysmeral grade and recent newcomer to the BASF Aroma Chemicals portfolio. “Lysmeral Extra is very good value for money, with an optimized range of byproducts. Its high substantivity makes it the ideal aroma chemical for laundry and fabric care compositions,” Dr. Bernd Burkhart, Vice President Global Business Management Aroma Chemicals, commented. BASF has introduced a new product code (PRD) and article numbers to reflect the change of product name.

Product launch: Pyranol joins BASF portfolio

BASF is presenting its newly developed aroma chemical Pyranol at the World Perfumery Congress. Pyranol is another ideal addition to the BASF citral value chain, delivering a mild, harmonious floralcy resembling muguet (lily of the valley). “Pyranol is highly versatile and can be used in almost every conceivable perfume composition,” Burkhart noted. “It improves the basic accord of perfume ingredients and harmonizes them to give a nicely rounded finish.” Pyranol is used extensively in modern fine perfumery for its quality, high stability and high cis isomer content.

Prenyl acetate: extension of the BASF citral value chain

Prenyl acetate is another novel product for BASF customers: an attractive specialty with a fruity fragrance redolent of pear with elements of banana. Prenyl acetate provides fruity, fresh nuances in composition and complements the BASF Aroma Chemicals portfolio with its mild fragrance.
