SWAT Gets New Program

SWAT teams have a new program to improve their performance called Practical Applied Stress Training (P.A.S.T.) Developed by owner of www.OptimalSWAT.com, Will Brink. Brink is a well-known fitness trainer and writer, who is also an adjunct trainer for Smith & Wesson’s firearms academy.

“The P.A.S.T. Program was developed from my work with tactical law enforcement on improving their performance and overall fitness which lead me to see a need for a more ’real world’ approach to how SWAT teams train” says Brink who does training and seminars for both law enforcement as well as athletes and everyday people.

As Brink notes “In recent years, there has been a paradigm shift in how the tactical community approaches it’s training designed to better prepare them for the job, which strives to improve their general physical preparedness for the job via an emphasis on more ’functional” training’ training that focuses on real world stresses.”
