Scottish & Southern Energy renews communications services agreement with BT Wholesale

WEBWIRE

Scottish & Southern Energy (SSE), one of the UK’s leading energy and utilities providers, has today reaffirmed BT Wholesale’s position at the forefront of the managed services industry by signing a long term agreement for fully managed voice and wholesale line rental services.

BT Wholesale has signed a new four year agreement with SSE to provide the white-labelled managed telephony service that will enhance the current service that SSE resells under its own brand to more than 250,000 consumers in the UK.

The new agreement builds on the existing three year white labelled managed services contract signed between the two organisations in February 2008, which underpinned SSE’s entry into the UK consumer communications services market. The new contract will enable SSE sales teams to manage orders for both calls and lines through a customised and fully managed online ordering portal, which will provide an improved experience for SSE’s growing consumer customer base.

“SSE is a trusted provider of communications services, and over the past three years we have found BT Wholesale’s expertise and high service standards invaluable in helping us to achieve this position. With this new four year agreement, we look forward to further strengthening this link and believe that BT Wholesale can help us achieve our aim of increased market expansion.” said Itret Latif, Scottish and Southern Energy’s Telecomms Business Manager.

“We are delighted that SSE has chosen to extend this managed services agreement with BT Wholesale which is testament to the value we continue to bring to our customers’ businesses and growth strategies. Our white-labelled managed services provide a cost effective and competitive solution that can be scaled up as SSE acquires new customers and expanded to include our next generation 21CN technologies and services as SSE evolves and enhances its communications offering in the consumer market,” said Brian Fitzpatrick, MD, BT Wholesale Markets.
