International Pharmaceutical Expert Available to Speak on US-Canada Prescription Drug Controversy

Due to the lower price that Canadians pay for prescription drugs as part of the nationalized healthcare system in Canada, hundreds of mail-order and Internet pharmacies have sprung up in the province of Manitoba, which in turn repackage drugs intended for Canadians and ship them to the US -- typically to patients where the prescribing doctor has never met the patient.

Anticipating this legislation, Sigma has worked with a number of Canadian pharmacies, including leading provider CanadaDrugs.com, to convert the millions of Americans now using Canadian pharmacies over to generic equivalents that will match or exceed the savings of the soon-to-be-outlawed Canadian program.

Chance, who also worked in management at such leading healthcare companies as Columbia/HCA and Price Waterhouse Coopers, says the demand for lower-priced prescription programs has been overwhelming, as has been the reaction of the current Canadian pharmacies looking for a place to find a legal home for their customers.
