Dental Assisting Program Now at Everest Institute – Houston Hobby

Houston’s Everest Institute adds dental assistant career training to its program roster.

HOUSTON (April 26, 2010) – Everest Institute’s Houston Hobby campus now offers career training for dental assistants. Projections indicate that the need for dental assistants will grow 36 percent over the next 10 years making it among the fastest growing occupations.* The campus is now enrolling students for this new program.

“There is ample need for dental assistants in our local communities,” said Everest’s Houston Hobby campus president, Adebola Hamed. “Our dental assisting graduates will fill a vital need for employers, including dental offices, dental supply houses/manufacturers, dental hospitals, dental laboratories, insurance companies and the dental department of military bases.”

Dental assistant training (http://dentalassisting.everestcollege.edu/dental-assisting-program.php) is eight months long and includes the study of general dentistry, dental office emergencies, dental radiography, dental specialties, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, laboratory procedures, dental anatomy, front office procedures and an off-site dental externship.

Graduates of the program are qualified to handle a diverse array of responsibilities in the delivery of dental care, which include chairside assisting methods, patient procedures and related office and laboratory duties.
