Newly Launched Church in South Florida Impacts Community

Coconut Creek, FL -- Coastal Community Church, a Christ-centered church located in Coconut Creek, Florida, is pleased to announce its recent launch, impacting those in Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, Ft. Lauderdale and surrounding areas. The non-denominational church, which meets each Sunday at Monarch High School, began services last fall and has been experiencing rapid growth since its inception.

“When we started, people often asked why we would need another church here in South Florida,” said TJ McCormick, lead pastor and founder of Coastal Community Church.

“We feel our church brings a uniqueness that engages young people for Christ, while at the same time, serves the local community with special events and creative outreach programs,” he added.

McCormick, who moved from Bradenton, Florida with his wife and a small staff to plant Coastal Community Church, has created an environment that attracts new churchgoers, as well as those disillusioned from past church experiences. His messages, backed by biblical teachings, allow individuals to connect with God in a relevant and practical way.

At 31, McCormick brings a dynamic approach to the ministry and is part of a nationwide trend that is seeing young pastors overseeing large and growing churches.

“I try to speak from the heart and be as transparent as possible, which really tends to resonate with our congregation,” said McCormick. “I want to be an example for what our church stands for, which is loving God, loving people and showing it.”

Coastal Community Church has already made an impact in its community, holding several water outreach programs that involve giving away free bottled water, creating an opportunity to let others know about the church and allow participants to share their faith.

Other events are planned for later in the year, which include block parties, a Fourth of July event and a special program to help disadvantaged children in the community. McCormick also hinted at some exciting event announcements in the near future.

“We’re going to try some things that have never been done before,” he said. “Our goal is to make church fun and exciting, without compromising our principles, values or beliefs.”

Coastal Community Church meets at 10:00 a.m. at Monarch High School located at 5050 Wiles Road in Coconut Creek, Florida.
