EnvironmentalReports’ software allows professionals to track and document lead projects in compliance with RRP regulations.

Environmental professionals and building contractors across the United States are preparing for new regulations that become law later this month. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), “Beginning in April 2010, federal law will require that contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be certified and follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.”

Several significant components of these new regulations include that beginning the 22nd of April; federal law requires contractors to be certified. Also according to the Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule contractors will also be required to store certification and testing documents for a 3 year minimum. Most experts suggest keeping the data for much longer and creating photographic documentation of on-site practices for additional insurance in case of future litigation.

To address these needs EnvironmentalReports recently released a patent pending software program. Environmental professionals and contractors will be able to harness the utility of the program to assist them in following RRP documentation requirements. The online document management system, that also works with handheld technology, allows professionals to setup projects and stores important environmental data that can be organized, tracked, shared, managed, archived and easily retrieved.

“Environmental projects, especially those that are regulated like lead, are heavily dependent upon reports, contracts, specifications, bid documents, laboratory data, licensing & credentials, project submittals and waste manifests,” reported Michael McIntyre, Vice President of EnvironmentalReports, Inc. “These documents are essential per RRP regulations and keeping track of them can be difficult and time consuming, but not any longer.”

EnvironmentalReports’ software delivers a powerful set of features that allows every project, location and document to be securely stored and organized for easy, fast retrieval without having to search through multiple files, folders, computers or networks.
