German Retailer Looks to Oracle® Retail to Help Optimize Inventory Management and Enhance Visibility to Performance of Merchandise Across its Stores

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif 22-MAR-2006 Oracle today announced that Karstadt Kompakt GmbH, the German department store retailer, has selected Oracle(r) Retail Merchandising and Planning systems to help support more accurate inventory forecasting, allocation and price management within its 74 stores across Germany. The implementation of the integrated merchandising and planning solution will support Karstadt Kompakt’s expansion plans.

Following the split from its former parent company, KarstadtQuelle, at the beginning of 2005, Karstadt Kompakt is now independently managed and had to introduce a new merchandising system. Karstadt Kompakt quickly identified Oracle Retail as the solution that best met its requirements for a scalable platform, which could deploy quickly and would allow for easy integration with future implementations.
