Rick Upshaw Honored By Philippines Typhoon Website Volunteers

WEBWIRE

The Philippines Typhoon Website Volunteers (www.PhilippinesTyphoon.org) announced their desire to recognize and honor Rick Upshaw, an American, in their Contributors area for his invaluable services to their website during and after the Philippines typhoon tragedy.

The Philippines Typhoon website was founded in late 2009 by Rick Upshaw himself, who happened to be in the Philippines when the Philippines typhoons struck. The sole purpose of the website is to raise international awareness of the ongoing need of the Philippines typhoon victims.

Rick Upshaw initially built the site himself while Typhoon Ondoy blasted through Manila right outside his window. After the storms subsided, as he saw the attention of the international community turn away from the urgent need of the Philippines typhoon victims, he has continued to donate his services, expertise and leadership to the website and its volunteers for the benefit of Philippines typhoon victims. Rick Upshaw’s leadership and business connections were also directly responsible for bringing in the efforts of the other contributors to the Philippines Typhoon website.

More information on Upshaw and his assistance is available at http://www.philippinestyphoon.org/contributors/rick-upshaw.

A list of all contributors can be found at: http://www.PhilippinesTyphoon.org/contributors.

While the Philippines Typhoon Admin doesn’t accept direct financial contributions, they do provide and maintain a list of organizations that they can confirm can be relied upon to properly distribute 100% of any donations made to them for the support of Philippines typhoon victims.
