WHY: As the Great Recession began, childhood friends Larry Lairson and Chris Harrison harnessed their entrepreneurial skills and began handcrafting specialized gloves to survive the challenging state of economy as well as Jack Frost. As a former university copywriter in Iowa City, Iowa, where temperatures regularly dipped to minus 20F, Harrison "saw a lot of people around town taking their gloves off with their teeth to answer their touch screen phones and knew there had to be a better way.”

Since then, Dots have become a hit with consumers from Seattle to Sweden with three stylish models that were sold out through much of the holidays. With DOTS Gloves all-weather, gloves-on operation of the iPhone and touch screen devices a cold snap, and a snap in the cold.
