Toyota Recall Causes Overflow to Annapolis and Salisbury Maryland Mazda Dealer

The recent Toyota recall and suspension of sales has left many customers who would be Toyota buyers left without a brand to purchase. Many of these customers are looking for alternatives to their Toyota brands, of the alternatives many are still looking at Asian import brands. To their surprise they tend to like what they find.

Recently Toyota Dealers in the surrounding areas of Maryland and Delaware are battling an increasing problem with the safety of their automobiles. Currently 8 models are being suspending for sales in the US, Europe, and China. Those Toyota models are 2007-2010 Toyota Camry, 2009-2010 Toyota Rav4, 2009-2010 Toyota Corolla, 2009-2010 Toyota Matrix (also includes 2009-2010 Pontiac Vibe), 2008-2010 Toyota Sequoia, 2007-2010 Toyota Tundra, 2005-2010 Toyota Avalon, and the 2010 Toyota Highlander.

The reason for the recall and suspension of sales is that the floor mats may jam the accelerator pedals and cause unintended acceleration. This is an extension from last fall’s Toyota recall, where Toyota called back 4.3 million vehicles. Since the announcement of Toyota recall and suspensions, many other Automotive Manufacturers like Mazda have introduced increase incentives.

Since Tuesday January 27, 2010, after the announcement of the Toyota suspension of sales many competitive brand dealers began receiving an increase in leads. “Since late Wednesday night when began getting an increase of internet leads and dealer chats requesting information. After talking to the customers more we found out that they had been in the market for a Toyota but are looking for a similar brand that may suit their needs.” says Danny Willey of Maryland Delaware Mazda Dealer, Preston Mazda.

As a Mazda Dealer in Maryland and Delaware is receiving more leads from the Toyota recalls. One can also imagine or forecast that in the rest of the United States the same things are happening. Predicted to gain the most off of Toyotas mishap will be Hyundai, Ford, Honda, Nissan, and Mazda.
