Free GRAPHIC Rhythm Sheets from Failla Drums

WEBWIRE

When it comes to rhythm sheets, graphics makes sense. They’re easy to read because each graphic rhythm fills the entire page and they can be viewed comfortably at a distance. The symbols used also make it easier to see the relationships between parts like the bells, or the bells and the bass drums, or how the djembe patterns relate to other instruments.

DRUMMIN’ BUDDIES Rhythm Sheets are also a perfect companion for DRUMMIN’ BUDDIES Hand Charts. Hand Charts are a practice tool for djembe patterns. People can start by learning the patterns, then learn within the context of the song. Have friends play the other parts like the dununs or bells. The Rhythm Sheets are large enough for all to see. If getting friends together or finding dununs is difficult, check out our DRUMMIN’ BUDDIES Video Practice Rhythms which is a great drumming practice tool to improve timing, variations, fills, and/or solos.

Thus far, there are a total of 18 rhythms available. Each is individually wrapped in a PDF file so drummers can download some or all of the rhythms as desired. As more rhythm sheets are developed they will be added to the download list. The 4/4 rhythms available include DJOLE, FANGA, FANKADI, HIGHLIFE, KASSA, KUKU, LAMBA, MAKRU, MORIBAYASSA, SOFA, TORO, and YANKADI. The 6/8 rhythms available include GIDAMBA, KADAN, LENGJEN, MARAKADON, TIRIBA, and UHURU. Suggestions for new rhythms are welcome.
