Munich, Germany, The Münchener Hypothekenbank eG is renewing its complete IT landscape of desktops and laptops and opting for the Microsoft Windows 7.0 operating system. By the end of January, Siemens IT Solutions and Services will be migrating 450 desktops and 150 laptops to the new technology at all 12 customer sites. The migration started in October 2009 immediately after Microsoft released the new operating system version. Piloting with 30 users was successfully completed within a single month. Siemens IT Solutions and Services is supporting the entire roll-out. The Münchener Hypothekenbank will be one of the first companies to use Windows 7.0 on all its computers company-wide.

“Renowned as a reliable partner, Siemens is providing us with the professional support necessary to implement the project. Thanks to the latest software we will have an excellent platform on which to base our modern system architecture“, said Andreas Werner-Scheer, Director of Information Processing/Organization at the Münchener Hypothekenbank.

The Münchener Hypothekenbank eG was founded in 1896 as the “Bayerische Landwirthschaftsbank” and is the only mortgage bank in the world doing business in the legal form of a registered cooperative. As an independent mortgage bank – no other large bank holds a majority share in MünchnerHyp – the bank’s owners primarily consist of cooperative banks, savings banks and individual members/shareholders, most of whom are customers. The bank maintains 11 regional offices staffed by experts throughout Germany to support its ongoing business relationships with the Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken. The private residential lending business of the MünchenerHyp is conducted via the cooperative Financial Services Network (FinanzVerbund) with the Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken, and the bank’s own regional offices. The national and international commercial property lending business is centrally managed from the bank’s main office in Munich. Within Germany there are further offices in Frankfurt/Main, Hamburg and Berlin.
