Los Angeles, CA (January 6, 2009)--A-List Communications, along with sponsors Conair, The Sky Lodge, The Wrap.com and Premiere.com team up with The Creative Coalition to bring Festival-goers a unique venue that gives back to the craft they cherish the most – The Arts. Taking place January 21-26, during the first half of the Festival, The Art & Soul Center will take over the nearly 5,000 square foot penthouse of the luxury Sky Lodge on Main Street and serve as a hub for celebrities to connect with charity groups The Humane Society and The Creative Coalition in between scheduled press and photo shoot sessions.

The Art & Soul Center will connect celebrities with The Creative Coalition’s Art & Soul book, a key fundraising initiative of The Creative Coalition’s arts advocacy program. Throughout each day, Pulitzer-prize winning photographer Brian Smith will shoot celebrity portraits for a second edition of the Art & Soul book. Celebrities will contribute handwritten personal testimonials expressing the importance of the arts in our school systems and the positive impact it has on our culture to accompany their photos. The Creative Coalition will then present the limited-edition book to Congress, the White House and the Library of Congress. Silvercup Studios has provided gracious support for the Film Festival book photo shoot.

“We are delighted to be at one of the world’s leading film festivals launching this year’s arts advocacy campaign from this influential community of artists to our national policymakers,” explains Robin Bronk, Executive Director of The Creative Coalition. “Arts are not a red issue nor a blue issue, and certainly not ‘a political football.’ Funding and support for the arts is vital to our nation and, in particular to our young people.”

Sponsor Conair Corporation will support the initiative with hair and make-up services for the shoots provided by Rusk stylists in the Conair Styling Suite as well as say thanks to supporting artists with a deluxe gift bag that includes the new Infiniti Cord-Keeper by Conair Styler dryer, and Rusk Designer Collection styling liquids. The Humane Society also will be on hand to encourage others to engage their fans and friends through social media, with a focus on the Shelter Pet Project. The Shelter Pet Project serves to increase the rate of animals adopted from shelters. Visitors will be gifted with cool Cause Gear in support of this campaign.

Other activities at the five-day center will include private cast receptions, press junkets for some of the top films at Sundance, and one-on-one interviews with media outlets such as TheWrap.com, and Premiere.com.
