Illegal Asbestos Dumping in Arizona Leads to Fines

The Maricopa County Superior Court has recently fined a landowner from Prescott, Arizona over $71,000 for illegally disposing of asbestos waste close to an aquifer. The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) had charged the individual with ten civil infractions related to the case.

Asbestos can be found in a wide range of common building materials from insulation, flooring, ceilings, roofing, siding, fire coating materials and a host of other old building products.
