Raising Smart Kids is Easy
All kids have the potential to be smart kids. It’s about smart parents paying attention to the ways kids learn. Knowing that kids learn from playing and moving. Knowing that kids can succeed in school and succeed at anything they may be interested in.
When recently interviewed, Mary Jo Wagner,Ph.D.of http://smartkidssmartparents.com, Brain Gym instructor and brain-based learning specialist commented, “Smart Kids excel at their passion, love moving, learning, and laughing, and don’t watch too much TV. They don’t necessarily go to the best college. And they may not get straight As or the top SAT scores. However, they can overcome learning challenges, even raise IQs a few points.”
Smart kids play with educational toys, many of which are free. Anything that encourages movement makes kids smarter. Riding bikes, jumping rope, swinging on swings increase the brain’s neural networks. Anything that promotes creativity makes kids smarter. Coloring and painting, dress up clothes, toys to put together in different ways are all smart toys.
Some toys help with reading, other toys with math, with writing, with science. Certain toys and games help kids manage ADHD. Kids don’t even know they’re learning. They’re playing. That’s smart learning at it’s best.
