Partnering with IBM to deliver only managed wireless solution for small and medium-sized businesses with centralized bill

Reston, Va. — 03/08/2006, Sprint (NYSE: S) today announces the launch of Sprint Easy Office which offers small businesses the capabilities of a full-featured wireless messaging service without the installation, maintenance or large expense of on-site hardware and software. Bringing together the strength of Sprint and IBM, small and medium-sized business employees now have a new tool to use wireless devices to be more responsive to co-workers, customers and vendors because they enjoy real-time access to their calendar, email, contact and task lists whether they are in the office or on the road. Sprint is the only wireless provider today to deliver a managed wireless solution to small and medium-sized businesses that includes all services on one bill and 24X7 customer service.

“Sprint Easy Office levels the playing field for small and medium-sized businesses by allowing them to enjoy the benefits of a robust mobile messaging tool without having to make a significant investment in IT support and equipment,” said Tim Donahue, vice president of general business marketing, Sprint Business Solutions. “As a part of our alliance relationship, Sprint and IBM have partnered to help businesses extend their workplace with a collaborative tool that is easy to use.”

Primarily geared for businesses with three to 100 employees, Sprint Easy Office is supported on the Nextel i930 by Motorola, any Nextel J2ME handsets with Nextel Mobile Email capabilities and BlackBerry devices that operate on the Sprint Nationwide PCS Network or Nextel National Network. Sprint Easy Office includes components such as Microsoft Exchange, 200MB mailboxes, wireless sync ability, anti-spam and anti-virus software, and the ability to select a domain name. The set-up is easy and support is ongoing as the service is continuously monitored and upgraded so a business does not purchase service packs and upgrades. Sprint Easy Office costs $20 per month per user and is available for both in-office and mobile employees.

“Sprint Easy Office is an excellent example of how two leaders in the wireless provider and information technology industries can combine strengths for the benefit of customers of all sizes,” said Sharon Gallagher, director, Sprint Alliance, IBM. “This offering is the result of a long-standing alliance between IBM and Sprint and is an excellent blend of both companies’ strengths.”

Sprint offers an unmatched suite of wireless messaging services to meet the needs of business customers regardless of customer size, security needs or management control and compatibility issues. These solutions operate on a variety of innovative devices to provide quick access to email, documents, contacts, calendar, tasks and other critical business resources. Sprint is also leveraging its Mobile Broadband service which improves performance when retrieving emails including large attachments and for bandwidth intensive applications.

Sprint Nextel is widely recognized for its state-of-the-art network technologies, including two robust wireless networks offering reliable, seamless and superior service to its customers and the United States’ first nationwide-all-digital, fiber-optic network and an award-winning Tier 1 Internet backbone. Sprint was the first to offer generally available performance commitments for its business customers through nationwide wireless voice and data Service Level Agreements (SLAs), a standard term in our business agreements. The voice SLAs provide commitments for voice service reliability based on measuring dropped calls, blocked calls and network voice availability. The data SLAs provide performance metrics based on dropped data sessions, blocked data sessions and data network availability.
