Ten $2,500 Foreclosed Homes Sell On Ebay
AffordableHousingAuctions.com, a website tracking low price foreclosed homes nationwide, has reported ten foreclosed homes were sold outright (free and clear of liens) for $2,500 (or less) in September on eBay.
According to James Massey, publisher of the AffordableHousingAuctions.com website, “In the current economic situation, it’s understandable that people, in some (hard hit) areas, are scared to commit to a home purchase. That is likely to be the reason behind some of the low bidding.“
Massey added, “I have been seeing homes in some areas sell on eBay for under $5,000 for a while now.“ And noted, “some homes, in economically devastated areas, are in neighborhoods that have been virtually abandoned, and it could take them decades to recover.“
Because of this, he emphasized the importance of proceeding carefully when buying foreclosed homes in online auctions: “Inspecting a neighborhood for safety and the house for structural soundness (In person) should be the top priority before bidding on anything. And making sure the title is free and clear of hidden liens is also essential.“
