Absolute Acquires Toronto based In-Tents Inc.

Paul Kenyon, Managing Director of Toronto film and special event support companies ’Absolute Location Support’ and ’It’s My Potty - VIP Portable Restrooms’ announced today the acquisition of temporary shelter specialists In-Tents Inc. for an undisclosed amount. “It is a marriage made in heaven” says Kenyon of the deal. “We have been steadily increasing our service to the special events industry and currently provide virtually everything that goes under and alongside a tent, so why not provide the tents? And, who better than In-Tents to partner with?” In-Tents began operations in 1995 and has been found at most local outdoor special events and on countless film sets in recent years.

Sam Downing, Head of Absolute Event Services (AES) will lead up the new division in tandem with In-Tents co-founder John Waite. Waite will continue to provide affordable tenting solutions to Toronto’s Professional Event Planners and Film Location Managers and will further provide Absolute with invaluable insight into the business of tenting. “It was the perfect time to join forces” said Waite. “Absolute and In-Tents are ready to be the most absolutely, ’intents’ location equipment provider in the GTA. With the capacity and resources of Absolute behind us, we can take In-Tents to the next level in tenting solutions for even larger and more specialized special events. We’ve already ordered a number of exceptional new tent products to bolster our existing offering and anticipate an exceptional summer season.”

Absolute began operations in 1997 as the location support arm of The Partners’ Film Company. They currently rent equipment to the film, television, commercial production and special event industries. Absolute employs 35 full-time and 16 part-time staff and currently operate from a 22,000 square foot facility in downtown Toronto; soon to be relocating to a 36,000 square foot facility, also in the West Don Lands.
