Herriman, UT. – Sundance Canyon Academy (SCA) announced the completion of its second year of operation and would like to thank all of those who encouraged and supported SCA during this year. “We have now had a couple of successful years with new student enrollments, adventure trips, service projects, parent workshops and student graduations,” said Simon Timms, Executive Director of Sundance Canyon.

”I am also very encouraged with the outcomes of our graduates and our kids transitioning home,” said Timms. “We have kids attending major universities, colleges, home high schools. They are also experiencing gainful employment and having life opportunities that they would otherwise never experience. It’s great to see them have the success here at Sundance and take it home with them and continue forward to take on new challenges.”

Sundance Canyon Academy (SCA), a fully licensed therapeutic Boarding School, was founded in 2007 by a professional board of behavioral health and educational professionals to help families in crisis with defiant or struggling teens. The school provides educational, therapeutic, and life-skill services to young men and their families.

“I believe, that while we are very similar to other therapeutic programs and schools in our industry, we differentiate ourselves by the wide-range of experiential programs we offer,” said Boyd Hooper, Admissions Director for Sundance Canyon. “We have traditional outdoor recreation, but we also have a non-traditional arts program that includes culinary arts, glass blowing, and music recording – real environments where creativity and therapeutic intervention can take place. “

“So far the response has been positive and we are very pleased with the feedback from parents and referring professionals,” said Reynie Sandoval, Clinical Director for Sundance Canyon. “I believe our services reach parents in a meaningful way. I think we have taken a thoughtful approach to working with struggling teens by implementing strategies of therapy where cognitive development and growth takes place in an emotionally safe environment that encourages individual choice and accountability.”
