AT&T Announces AT&T Telepresence Solution Expansion to Mexico to Help Companies Improve Global Collaboration

WEBWIRE

Mexico City, Mexico.- AT&T* announced today that AT&T Telepresence Solution availability is being expanded to include Mexico. Made available in cooperation with a local telecommunications supplier, the AT&T Telepresence Solution will allow companies to further improve collaboration with unique, “in-person” experiences with the simplicity of making a phone call.

The AT&T Telepresence Solution, a fully-managed solution enabled by Cisco TelePresence™, also provides a “meet me” feature with a secure PIN code that simplifies intercompany calling. This is a key component and an industry-first feature that distinguishes the AT&T solution from any other video communications offer available today. AT&T Telepresence Solution also offers unique multipoint functionality and reliable intercompany capabilities, which allow multiple locations within and between companies to connect to each other.

The solution allows companies in Mexico to connect to their customers, suppliers and partners worldwide in a highly cost-effective way while also reducing environmental impacts.

“We are pleased to announce the expansion of AT&T Telepresence Solution in Mexico, as it allows to further extend our portfolio of managed application services to companies that are focused on improving their productivity and collaboration throughout their multiple locations in Mexico, the Latin America region and globally,” said Walter Bona, sales center vice president for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, AT&T Business Solutions.

The expansion of AT&T Telepresence Solution in Mexico is AT&T’s latest milestone in enhancing the telepresence offering. Globally, nearly 30 companies have access to the AT&T Business Exchange, AT&T’s exclusive AT&T Telepresence Solution intercompany collaboration feature, and are able to connect with one another via hundreds of telepresence sites worldwide. Furthermore, AT&T announced earlier this year plans to double the number of its own AT&T Telepresence Solution rooms worldwide to 50.

The AT&T Telepresence Solution provides AT&T-owned or customer-owned Cisco TelePresence equipment, installation, full monitoring and management of the application, remote help desk service and on-site equipment maintenance and repair and works over AT&T Virtual Private Network transport.

Earlier this year, AT&T announced an intra-company conferencing feature that allows companies to connect their existing H.323 compatible, videoconferencing systems to the industry-leading AT&T Telepresence Solution, This allows AT&T Telepresence Solution customers to leverage historically under-utilized systems. With this feature, existing standard definition (SD) or Internet Protocol (IP)-based videoconferencing systems will participate as an end-point when an AT&T Telepresence Solution session begins. Companies that have made prior investments in video-conferencing technology are able to use their technology with the AT&T Telepresence Solution to extend the life of their legacy system, while taking advantage of the high quality “in-room” experience that Cisco TelePresence offers.
